MODERN BUDO

American Modern Budo Martial Arts System

The American Modern Budo Martial System combines core concepts, principles, and philosophies originating from Aikido, Grappling, Jiu-jitsu, Judo, Muay Thai and American Kenpo Karate.

BUDO - is defined as, the path of martial valor, the way of the warrior.  Courage and honor dedicated to enlightened action. The Way of the Warrior is based on humility, compassion, and sincerity; the heart of martial valor is that of true bravery, wisdom, love, and friendship.

Emphasis on the physical aspects alone as a warrior is futile, for the power of the body is always limited. When facing the realm of life and death in the form of an enemy’s threat, one must be firmly settled in both mind and body, and not at all intimidated; without providing your opponent the slightest opening, control his/her mind in a flash and move where you will with no wasted motion, precision and accuracy.

The American Modern Budo System is based on movements, which utilize natural weapons of the body such as hands, feet, elbows and knees.  In conjunction with the striking techniques; American Budo incorporates joint locks, pins, throws, chokes, leverage and grappling principles to provide the solution for a “complete” balance of realistic personal protection tools.

Although American Modern Budo retains formalities and customs of the oriental traditions, the system’s methods are modernized (Martial Science) to be much more adaptive and flexible than those taught by traditionalists.  The American Modern Budo System is one that continually adapts to the individual; our system does not require that the individual adapt to the movements to be successful.
